Care Taxi Navi

Care taxis in Okayama that can assist you in English, Chinese and more

1 operators

A Japanese “care taxi” (介護タクシー, kaigo taxi) is a licensed taxi that carries passengers in a wheelchair or on a stretcher, with a driver trained to help you get in and out. The operators below have told us, or state on their own website, that they can communicate in a language other than Japanese — some through a translation app.

How to book

  1. Call the operator directly. Most take bookings by phone; booking at least one day ahead is safest.
  2. Tell them the pick-up place, destination, date and time, and whether you use a wheelchair, a reclining wheelchair or a stretcher.
  3. Fares: the regulated taxi fare for the area plus a care (assistance) fee — often around ¥1,000–1,500 — and equipment rental if needed. Please confirm the total when you book.
  4. Payment: cash is the most common. Ask in advance if you want to pay by card.
